NEWS 28 - Jay Laylin has been issued his Presidential Protective Service agents after he was officially announced to be the nominee for the Republican party. The agents will take care of his protection, his transportation to and from his debates, rallies and during his election period. He will loose the protections if he looses the election in October. "Now that I am working towards winning the Presidency in October, I have Presidential Protective Service agents," said Laylin. "All I know is, it's going to take some time to get used to being driven around and having them around 24/7. I think it won't take long though."
Laylin will only be entitled to PPS agents as long as he wins the presidency, or only until the announcement of a president-elect. If Laylin or Cooke lose the election, they will no longer get PPS protections. But they will have the agents during the entire final phase of campaigning, election day and until the winner is named. Not only will Laylin and Cooke receive PPS agents, so will Bindle and Thurman, who will have 24/7 PPS agents assigned to them. Both Bindle and Thurman will serve as the vice presidents of Laylin and Cooke respectively. But now things get more complex. For example, before Laylin became the republican presidential nominee, anyone could have approached him. Now that he is a major Presidential candidate, most "everyday" people won't be able to do that without causing a stir. Now, to meet and greet with Laylin or even Cooke, you have to go through a whole security process, a process no one will want to go through. But also, he will have access to federal security funding until he loses the election or he withdraws his name from the ballot, which is very, very unlikely. Special funding is set aside for his transportation, agents and secure housing. "I don't plan on loosing my PPS agents," said Thomas Cooke. "I will crush him during these debates and during this election cycle. Let's do this. It won't take long I can assure you that. Our enduring freedoms are threatened, knowing someone like Jay Laylin is in the running for the presidency."
