RUFUS - A Federal Court found Former Vice President Richard Banks guilty of Sexual Misconduct and abusing his power as Vice President to conduct the inappropriate acts in his office. According to other Banks staffers, they were all told to remain quiet or risk losing their jobs. Banks was in court on outstanding questioning that needed to be conducted relating to his conduct when he served as Jesstopia's second Vice President. Allegations from the victim, allege that he inappropriately touched them and made sexually explicit comments to them, which they then asked him to stop. During this conduct, he told his staffers to say absolutely nothing or face termination. He retaliated against two former Nationalist House staffers after they refused to stay quiet. Early Sunday afternoon, the court ruled in favor of the witnesses and the victims. The court also cited that he made the work environment hostile by threatening termination if any of the staffers made any report or comment on the conduct. Video evidence could not be procured, but audio evidence from a staffer was submitted to court, which recorded the victim saying that she "didn't want the conduct to continue, so please stop." The video cuts off to hear Vice President Banks' response.
The staffers later went on to come forward saying how he threatened to fire them, if they were to say a word about it to President McCallum or any other Nationalist House staff member. He threatened to also personally disown them and talk about their family matters through twitter. The court that found him guilty of Sexual Misconduct and fostering a hostile work environment, also wants the Senate to launch and investigation, and potentially prevent him from running for, or being elected to a position of authority, and/or public office. There has been not comment from the Senate whether they were planning to launch an investigation, but President McCallum was also a target for not knowing what was going on at the Nationalist House. We will continue to follow this story as it unfolds. For further details, or to report a story, email us at [email protected] or [email protected].
