NEWS 28 - President McCallum has officially addressed the reason he has been absent from the public for the last two weeks, delegating state visits and public engagements to Vice President Travis Loretti. The President said that his family had "experienced a severe family medical emergency," but did not specify which family member experienced the family emergency. He did confirm that the medical scare did not involve him. "As President of the United States Of Jesstopia, it is my duty, my obligation to answer to the Jesstopia people," said President McCallum during the live address. "As I have always said, family is very important to me and so is my duty a this country's leader. My absence in the last two weeks is nothing of suspicion and should not be taken that way. A member of my family has fallen very ill, and we were taking time off to be with them. I will not disclose which family member it was, but I can confirm that it was not me. We are still working to ensure a full recovery."
President McCallum did say that he was back to full duty, and thanked Vice President Loretti for taking up the duties he had to put aside to focus on his family's health scare. He said that he will still hold his April meeting with King Georgie V of Polton.

NEWS 28 - New Shire Lt. Governor Micheal Wendtz has been pronounced dead, after a brief battle with cancer. He died a little after 12:30 PM at his home in Hillcrest, New Shire.
ALDEN - Former and embattled Governor, Kirk Paul early this afternoon made a surprise announcement, while speaking to Media School students, Kirk Paul announced that he would be returning to politics in early 2026. During a speech to students at the University of Arts and Digital Media, he expressed how his career in digital media led to his political career choice.
RUFUS - Parker Jackson has won the Republican nomination, just days ahead of the expected announcement of a nominee from the party. Jackson is seeking election to the Governor's Office after he failed to win during the 2022 Gubernatorial Elections. His campaign announced that he is "extremely grateful for his supporters, campaign staff, his incredible family and his friends who supported his campaign."
RUFUS - 2024 Nationalist Party, Presidential Nominee Thomas Cooke was speaking at a rally in Nox City, North Lorray, in attempts to get Linda Lee reelected Governor next month, when an 18 year old man pulled out a weapon and fired it towards the stage where Cooke and Lee were standing. Police quickly apprehended the 18 year old male.

The ex-Governor says that it was time for him to move on. Kirk Paul, who served as the 19th Governor Of Mesa from November 20, 2021 until his resignation on May 9, 2023, fought to the bitter end to save his career. His defaming anti-trans legislation, harmful policies on LGBTQ+ healthcare and access to schooling also led to the collapse of his political career.
