Lynn Rodgers Wins New Shire’s Nationalist Party Nomination

RUFUS - New Shire Gubernatorial candidate Lynn Rodgers, has officially been named the Nationalist Party's nominee for Governor during the 2024 Gubernatorial Elections. In a historic nomination process, Rodgers received 515 more than 15 more votes than are required to win the nomination, and became the first women to be nominated in New Shire's gubernatorial race. If she wins the election in April, she will be the first women to be elected New Shire's Governor, furthering women's power in the State.

”We are very pleased with her nomination,” said Nationalist Party President Joseph Heinrich. “She was the state of New Shire’s first choice and the rest of the Party around the nation agreed that she was the best choice. We look forward to retaining a majority in state and federal governments.”

Rodgers late this afternoon gave a speech thanking the party for its confidence and support during this process and for making history being the first to elect a female Gubernatorial candidate.

”I would like to thank the New Shire Nationalist party for its support during this entire process,” said Lynn Rodgers. “I also thank them and all of my supporters for the confidence in me to lead the state of New Shire and put me up against the Republican Party. I hope we can win in April to better the lives of all New Shirens.”

Support from party leadership has been strong since Rodgers' announced her plans to run for Governor back in July. She says she is committed to promoting equality and inclusion. She also said she is committed to addressing heavy inflation plaguing the New Shire economy.

"I have the utmost confidence in Lynn Rodgers to lead this incredible state, something I have had the pleasure and honor of doing since 2021," said Governor Thomas Cooke. "She will be an incredible Governor and I look forward to working beside here as President in 2024, but as she prepares for a hard fought campaign to be elected, I want to reiterated my support for Lynn, who again will continue to make history as New Shire's first women Governor, after being the first women nominated for the Governorship.
