RUFUS - Parker Jackson has won the Republican nomination, just days ahead of the expected announcement of a nominee from the party. Jackson is seeking election to the Governor's Office after he failed to win during the 2022 Gubernatorial Elections. His campaign announced that he is "extremely grateful for his supporters, campaign staff, his incredible family and his friends who supported his campaign." "I want to first and foremost thank my campaign staff, volunteers, donors, supporters and most importantly my family and friends who have supported this campaign and who have played a key role in knocking on doors getting my name out there and building support for this campaign," said Jackson. "This campaign was a very strong and hard-fought campaign and I look forward to seeing what this election cycle holds and I look forward to winning the election. I thank the Republican party and I humbly except the nomination."
Jackson who has previously sought election to the office, said in a brief statement earlier today that he would work for ALL New Shirens, echoing the very promise that Governor Thomas Cooke promised when he sought his first elected term to the office. He vowed to support a strong economy, a fair justice system, reduce inflation that has plagued the state under the control of Thomas Cooke and the Nationalist Party. "Jackson deserves this nomination, seeing as he attempted to win the Governor's office in 2022," said State Representative David Harrison(R-NS). "He is getting a second chance to win the office he wants to rip from Nationalist control. He will need to win big to successfully win the Governor's Office."
