RUFUS - 2024 Nationalist Party, Presidential Nominee Thomas Cooke was speaking at a rally in Nox City, North Lorray, in attempts to get Linda Lee reelected Governor next month, when an 18 year old man pulled out a weapon and fired it towards the stage where Cooke and Lee were standing. Police quickly apprehended the 18 year old male. According to police records, the male who fired the weapon towards the stage(his name is being withheld pending an investigation), has a history of mental illness, and also found threatening tweets against the New Shire Governor and Governor Linda Lee, when she still served as Mayor Of Nox City. Police say they also found a AK-47, and a Sig-42 in his vehicle that was stopped on the side of Braddock Pass Blvd. Troopers of the North Lorray Highway Patrol also searched several other vehicles belonging to the 18 year old as well.
"We are continuing our investigation and are focused on the safety of Thomas Cooke and Governor Linda Lee," said a Representative from the North Lorray Highway Patrol. "The care of a major Presidential nominee is this agencies first priority as he visits the great state of North Lorray. We will take over the protection detail from Nox City Police Department and will work alongside Presidential Protective Service Agents until he returns home to New Shire." Cooke is expected to remain in Nox City for the next four days as he campaigns around the state alongside Gubernatorial candidate and current Governor Linda Lee. City residents can expect a heavy police presence as Cooke makes his way around the state. Residents are being advised to plan alternate routes than their normal route.
